If you play with fire......
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">MELBOURNE, Fla -- A 23-year-old man was killed and another injured when fireworks in the back seat of their car exploded and ignited the car, according to Local 6 News.
Police said Aravis Walker, 23, and Antonio Robinson, 27, were lighting fireworks and throwing them from their vehicle Mondaynight while driving in the area of
Carver Street in Melbourne, Fla.
At some point, an amber from a cigarette or one of the lit fireworks fell on the back seat of the car and ignited several other explosives.
Robinson was able to exit the vehicle after running into a light pole at Carver Street and Walker Street. However, Walker was not able to get of the car and sat in the car as it burned.
Both men were burned over 90 percent of their bodies and transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center.
"They actually had to hose him (Walker) down to treat him," Assistant Fire Chief Greg Anglin said.
Walker died at the hospital Tuesday morning.
Officers at the scene said the vehicle had fireworks still shooting from it when they arrived.
The Toyota car was completely destroyed.
Possible charges are pending the result of the investigation, according to police.

Yep.No big surprise..I'm sure this weekend is gonna bring alot of blown off fingers and worse
sad.
just sad.
so..they were throwing lit fireworks from the back of a car..while smoking..with a backseat full of more fireworks?
I'm guessing common sense wasn't their strong point. It's sad that it happened, but it could have easily been avoided had they not been behaving like idiots.

This is a perfect example of what I have dubbed the "Florida Story of the Week".....
These stories usually involve bizarre convoluted situations wherein people are injured and sometimes killed or something that just embodies the true spirit of Florida.....Sometimes they occur more often then once a week but generally a week doesn't go by without something bizarre occuring to someone in this state and then said occurence being reported in the paper..
And I hardly think this is sad...more like hilarious....and they should be up for a Darwin award..
TORT,

...didn't you know? Common sense, isn't a very common thing, at all.
...Andyman, is living proof of that!

Do you remember the two friends who were messing around with a rifle a few years back?
They were taking turns shooting off the little button on the top of a baseball cap.
Needless to say, one friend's face was blown off.
If that wasn't Florida, it should've been. Lived in Miami my entire life, and I can honestly say that nothing shocks me anymore. My friends feel the same way.
I guess it is the Universe's way of ensuring the gene pool has enough clorine in it.
